· iPod Speaker v1 As I take my iPod with me almost all the time, I found it useful to have some kind of speaker I could take with me. As stuff like Altec Lansing's inMotion are incredibly expensive and not that portable, I decided to make a speaker myself. So, here's the result. This is the first version of the speaker. It is very small, but I soon realized it was way too quiet to use in a room larger than mine, and it was impossible to hear in a crowded one, so later on I created an improved version with amplifier.

The body of the speaker was made out of two spray-can covers. The actual speaker is from an electronics learning set, and it fit exactly into the covers. The cable I got from some old headphones, and just soldered it directly to the speaker cables. As there is no amplifier whatsoever, the sound is not too strong, even when turning the iPod's volume all the way up.
Just in case you were wondering: It's a 20 GB 4th Generation iPod, dressed in a blue iSkin :-)
